Description

Dive into the exciting world of biology in this comprehensive high school course, designed to fulfill one of the two required science credits for graduation. Through engaging weekly 2-hour sessions, students will explore fascinating topics in biology with dynamic lectures and hands-on labs. From cellular biology to ecosystems, this course emphasizes practical lab skills, critical thinking, and real-world applications of science. Students will develop expertise in conducting experiments, analyzing data, and completing projects that bring biology to life. In-class practicum sessions will help reinforce lab techniques and scientific methods. All lab supplies are provided for in-person learners. This A-G certified course (pending approval from your charter school or PSP) offers an interactive, skills-focused approach to high school science. ALL NEW THIS YEAR! We have added a weekly Biology study hall on First Semester Thursdays from 2:45-4:15 pm Second Semester Tuesday 2:45-4:15 pm. These sessions are not mandatory but are offered as extra help. Regular Zoom office hours are on Wednesdays 1:15-2:45 pm. Students who add the HONORS portion will have additional information and assignments to complete. Students will cover material appropriate for them to take the CLEP exam for college credit. Honors students are encouraged to attend weekly biology study hall or office hours.
